End of Year Message from Administration
June 27, 2024
Deep Cove Families,
On this last day of the school year, we wanted to recognize our school community and the many successes this year - starting with our students and their amazing year full of learning and growth. Whether the task was social, academic, or experiential, we saw our students ask good questions and learn in a confident way. We had many incredible experiences in classrooms and school-wide that exhibited curiosity and are very proud of how our students progressed in their personal growth, working with others, and engaging in their learning.
Parents, thank you for all you have done in support of your child’s learning. We are thankful for our relationships, and the strong home-school connections at Deep Cove. This is foundational to student growth and we thank you for working with us in support of learning.
On this day we are saying goodbye to our grade five leaders and will miss them, but know that they are ready for middle school. We also know that in September, we will be welcoming in our new kindergarteners!
A number of projects will be underway this summer - the outside of our school will be painted, a new septic system is being installed, and work is moving forward on our new playground!
The Deep Cove front office will remain open until Friday July 5. While the school board office is open into July, all neighbourhood schools in Saanich will be closed during the summer. The school office reopens August 26, with the school board office opening a week prior. Please contact the school board office or the school directly should you have registration changes. Please continue to look on the Saanich Schools and our Deep Cove website for any updates prior to September.
The first day of instruction is Tuesday September 3, from 8:40-10am. Buses will run that day starting at 10:15am. As was the case last year, at the start of school we will be asking for a school supply fee for the start of school.
We wish you all the best to you and your families, and hope you have a restful and healthy summer, wherever your travels take you. Happy Summer!
